Athletes commemorate the 68th anniversary of the birth of Alexis Argüello

In homage to the 68th anniversary of the birth of Three-time World Boxing Champion Alexis Argüello Bohórquez, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua organized a boxing evening with the participation of young boxers from the boxing academies of the Municipality and Youth Affairs of the National Police.

This activity was held this Sunday at the modern Alexis Argüello Sports Center, with the assistance of boxers Rosendo Álvarez, José “El Quiebra Jícara” Alfaro and the Alvarado twins, 4 Nicaraguan boxers who have won world titles in boxing and who together with Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales inaugurated this sporting event, in which the legacy of the three-time champion Alexis Argüello was honored.

This boxing evening was made up of 15 fights between young people from the different boxing schools, in the categories of 49, 52, 57, 69, 85, 100, 110 and 130 kilograms, including 2 encounters between female boxing students from the schools. of boxing of the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, which has in the gyms of the markets Róger Deshon, Iván Montenegro and Carlos Roberto Huembes.
