In homage to the 201 anniversary that the capital was declared "Loyal Villa de Managua", the Capital Commune has been carrying out various activities, among them, paying tribute to personalities who have stood out in different areas such as culture, sports, academia and education. Social.
The honorable Managua Council, in a special session, held on the Paseo de las Estrellas, located on Paseo Xolotlán, presented awards to 28 outstanding Nicaraguan artists who, for more than 30 years, have contributed to the development of the country. In different cultural facets, among them, musicians, plastic artists, received a tribute for their uninterrupted work in the promotion of the national culture, taking the name of Nicaragua beyond the borders.
The Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda, on behalf of all the Managuas recognized the contribution of culture and dedication and mystique that each one of them maintained to this day.
“In each of these artists we have an enormous cultural heritage and we give these 28 brothers recognition for their commitment and dedication to promoting Nicaraguan art, we do this within the framework of the 201st anniversary of the Leal Villa de Managua, for his valuable contribution both nationally and internationally. Each one of them has represented us and given us so much honor and pride to our country and that is why we should feel very proud because we have a heritage in the different cultural arts ”.
Among those awarded are Keyla Rodríguez, Carlos Baltodano, Raúl Martínez, Richard Loza, Diego Aguirre, Milton Guillén, César Bermúdez, Andrés Sánchez, José Fernández, Isaura Ramírez, Mario Montenegro, Reynaldo Alberto Ruíz and Luis Emilio Martínez.
The cultural contribution of dance masters such as Gloria Bacon, Elvin Vanegas, Mercedes Grijalva, William Herrera and Ada Ortiz Artola and that of the artists Ricardo Morales, Javier Tercero, Leonel Serrato, Alfonso Jiménez, Roberto Aguirre, Roberto Barberena ( Payaso Pipo), Gonzalo Fuellar (Guachipilín Puppet School), Raúl Marín, César Paz and Juan Rivera.
"I am happy to be with many colleagues and I am proud that after 20 years of being in music, the Mayor's Office gives me recognition along with great artists, I am very grateful and I hope that young people continue to integrate into music", said the musician Carlos Baltodano.
The renowned singer Keyla Rodríguez stated that she was proud to receive the recognition after 35 years of musical career “because this is what fills our souls as an artist and as a city from the capital it fills me with pride to receive this tribute. This filled my heart a lot, I am proud and satisfied ”.
