Promoting sports and guaranteeing the recreation and healthy recreation of Nicaraguan families, the Good Government renovated the basketball courts of the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores Park, inaugurated this Saturday, with the 7th edition of the Luisa Amanda Espinoza in Memoriam Women's Basketball Tournament.
This tournament was inaugurated by the Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda, who expressed the commitment of the Good Government to support the sport; Proof of this is the rehabilitation of these fields, which were built in 2014, to keep their infrastructure in optimal condition.
Rueda announced that this maintenance work consisted of the installation of a new acrylic floor and 380 new chairs for the spectators, as well as the maintenance of the scoreboard and the metal structure of the courts, with an investment that exceeded 900 Thousand Córdobas.
In this tournament 10 women's basketball teams participate, among them, Eagles from Ciudad Sandino, Linces and Leonas from Managua, as well as Tipitapa, Agraria University and the U16 Women's National Team; who will play for 4 months to reach first place in this championship.
The inauguration of this sporting event took place in a festive atmosphere and with the joy of living in peace, where the 10 teams participating in the tournament paraded; the event was enlivened by artistic presentations from the Leonel Rugama Cultural Movement.
