The V National Basketball Tournament Carlos Ulloa in Memoriam begins

Basketball fans enjoyed this Saturday, February 15, the start of the V First Division National Basketball Tournament at the Alexis Argüello Sports Center.

The Vice Mayor of Managua, Enrique Armas explained that in this tournament 20 teams from all over the country will participate, for 5 months, on Saturdays and Sundays, in 16 places in this land of Pino.

“We are starting the new edition of the national basketball tournament with which we pay tribute to a great Nicaraguan Carlos Ulloa, who offered his life in defense of the Cuban revolution, previous governments had eliminated all these tournaments, but thank God, since Commander Daniel returned, the sport has been rescued in all its disciplines in our country, Nicaraguan basketball is coming off its best year, without a doubt 2019 has been the best year in the history of Nicaraguan basketball and we will continue working to make this year better yet".

Among the participating teams are: The Lions of the Mayor's Office of Managua, El Real Estelí, Matagalpa, Boaco, San Isidro, Tipitapa, León, Granada, Nandaime, Chinandega and the Atlantic Coast, three teams participate, including Caribbean Coast, Los Mineros and Bonanza .

Noel González, Director of Sports for the Managua Mayor's Office, explained that the matches will be from all over the country.

"There are 190 games, each team must play 19 games, there are 16 venues throughout the country and the final will be in the department where the winning teams are."
