Comuna holds the First Master's Swimming Championship for Veterans

This Saturday, February 15, the First Master's Swimming Championship for Veterans was held at the Michele Richardson Swimming Pool Complex, in which a little more than 50 swimmers participated.

The competitions were held in the back, chest and free styles.

The Vice Mayor of Managua, Enrique Armas announced that there were 24 hits from 50 meters.

He also announced that this is the first meeting held for veterans and more championships will be organized for retired swimmers very soon.

René González Mejía, a former member of the National Swimming Team, expressed his excitement to return to the pool as a competitor, 50 years after his outstanding career in national swimming.

"I congratulate the Mayor of Managua for this initiative and I hope that in the future more swimmers, former swimmers and prospective swimmers will join the sport of swimming and make use of these extraordinary facilities that are world class."
