Families living in the second stage of Bello Horizonte and surrounding neighborhoods can now enjoy the new community gym that the capital's Mayor's Office built in La Segovia park.
The Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda, announced that the inauguration of this work is part of a new project that the Municipality will be carrying out in several parks in the capital through the Directorate of Ornato.
He said that the project consists of equipping the parks of the capital with sports furniture. "These outdoor community gyms are in high demand by young people, adults and even the elderly," said Rueda.
He commented that this park was abandoned for years, and in 2016, the Municipality undertook the task of rehabilitating the 6,149 square meters of extension, providing maintenance and investment for games, lighting, painting and all the necessary requirements for its functioning.
"We started with an investment of two million córdobas in 2016 rehabilitating the platforms from the field because it was totally abandoned," said the mayor of the capital.
This year, the Municipality equipped an area of the park for the construction of this gym, which will directly benefit 1,445 people who live in 622 homes in this sector.
This relaxation space for families had an investment cost of 312 thousand córdobas and will have a set of 5 machines to do exercises, among them, 2 machines for abdominals and arms, 2 machines to work the muscles of the waist, a bicycle, 9 new benches and 9 garbage cans.
Doña María Eugenia Bermúdez, resident of the second stage of Bello Horizonte, said she was very happy with this space where "the entire community will have the opportunity to exercise, without having to pay," and added that she will also use the machines, "I love exercising and I'm going to release them," he said.
