The Cycling Tour of Nicaragua "Lakes and Volcanoes" in its 18th edition, was held in our country for three days, in this sporting event 85 runners from Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica and Nicaragua participated.
The first day of competition in the Tour of Nicaragua "Lakes and Volcanoes" was held on Friday, November 15 and was done in two stages.
In the first stage, the cyclists demonstrated their resistance against the clock, climbing 14 kilometers from Plaza Campestre to the Masaya Volcano Viewpoint, from 8:00 to 10:00 in the morning.
Once the cyclists climbed to the Mirador del Volcán, they traveled to the city of Granada, traveling 60 kilometers in the second stage of the race. The route went from the Las Flores roundabout passing through Catarina and the Empalmes de Guanacaste and Nandaime returned to Granada, here the goal was the Fortaleza de la Pólvora.
At the end of the routes of the first day, the cyclists returned to the capital where they rested to leave the following day, Saturday, November 16, towards Chinandega, traveling 140 kilometers in the third stage of the competition.
The third stage route began at the Rubén Darío Rotunda - Nejapa Overpass - Mateare - Nagarote Rotunda - Malpaisillo Rotunda - Telica and Chinandega.
On the last day of competition, held on Sunday, November 17, the 85 cyclists faced each other in a closed circuit of 100 kilometers, which traveled along Avenida Bolívar de la Rotonda Hugo Chávez passing through the National Assembly traffic lights - Chancellery traffic lights, returning through the Bartolomé de las Casas Park - where was the González cinema, MITRAB, Alexis Argüello Sports Center, Michele Richardson Swimming Pool Complex and the final goal in front of the National Arboretum.
