Managuas commemorate the Day of the faithful departed

Thousands of residents of the capital visited the General Cemetery this November 2, to honor the memory of the deceased faithful, the Municipality in coordination with the National Police, the Minsa and the Fire Department guaranteed the free movement and safety of the citizens, who during all day they came to mourn their loved ones.

Three Eucharists were celebrated in this Cemetery, the first was held at 9:00 in the morning and was presided over by His Eminence, Cardinal Leopoldo Brenes.

The Mayor of Managua, Reyna Rueda, thanked Cardinal Brenes for accompanying the relatives who attended this Cemetery, which during six weeks prepared to receive more than one hundred thousand visitors and explained the measures taken for the safety of the citizens.

“As His Eminence Cardinal Leopoldo Brenes said, today we all come on a pilgrimage of love and prayer for our loved ones who have already gone ahead of us, here almost a million people rest and as is tradition, more than 100 arrive during the day thousand people, the instructions of our President was to guarantee the greatest possible security and fluid access, that is why we installed two medical posts taking into account the temperature of the day, the conditions of the elderly brothers, we also installed a fire station, with 20 boys on duty and on the outskirts the National Police regulated traffic on the sides of the Camposanto ”.

Cardinal Brenes reminded the population that the most important thing is to honor the faithful departed with love, prayer and forgiveness.

“Today we will see all day a pilgrimage of love and prayer, we are all pilgrims of love and we must pray asking God for forgiveness, forgiveness is not human, it is divine because it comes from God, all Nicaraguans are called to be missionaries of the love and peace ”.

For six weeks, the Municipality carried out cleaning days in all the cemeteries it manages, maintenance was also carried out on the main streets of the cemeteries and their surroundings.
