This Friday, July 26, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, began the celebrations of the festivities in honor of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, with the election of the candidates for the municipal contest of the Queen of the Patron Saint Festivities, which will take place on 09 August at the traditional Culonas Cow festival in the San José Oriental neighborhood.
The elections to select the 18 candidates of the municipal contest are held in each of the 7 districts of Managua, the first election was in District 1, in front of the Máximo Jerez neighborhood park, where 13 young people between 18 and 18 participated. 25 years old, remaining as candidates for the final of the event were Angelica Bustos Medina and Jesly Alejandra Téllez.
In district 1, the election of the semifinalists of the municipal contest took place in an atmosphere of popular revelry and a lot of tradition, where a multitude of citizens from the capital attended to make one of their candidates home.
The selection parameters for the semifinalists were based on the knowledge about the festivities in honor of Santo Domingo de Guzmán and the scenic domain; the event featured a parade of the candidates in riding costumes and then they appeared in folk costumes.
