Managua Mayor's Office installs protection fence in the Tiscapa Lagoon

In order to safeguard and take care of our natural resources, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua and the Guardabarranco Environmental Movement, with the technical support of the Guatemalan Ministry of the Environment, installed a protection barrier at the mouth of the channel that discharges into the Tiscapa Lagoon.

This protection network called “Nica Barda” has an extension of 150 linear meters and was built by hand by a team of environmental technicians and volunteers from the Guardabarranco Environmentalist Movement and its objective is to retain the solid waste that is discharged into this aquifer, located in the center of the capital.
