Relatives, friends, municipal authorities and a special delegation of the World Boxing Organization (WBO) headed by “El Púas” Rubén Olivares and his wife, Mr. Federico Hernández Head of Public Relations and Protocol and of the World Boxing Council, this morning July 1, together with the Sandinista Youth and the Alexis Argüello Sports Movement, they commemorated the tenth anniversary of the transition to immortality of the greatest glory of Nicaraguan sport, the three-time world boxing champion Alexis Argüello.
With a response officiated by Father Toñito Castro in the chapel of the Jardines del Recuerdo cemetery and floral offerings in the monument in Plaza Las Victorias, they remembered the legacy of the Three-time Champion for Nicaragua and future generations of young people.
In the afternoon, at the Olof Palme Convention Center, the President of the Republic, Commander Daniel Ortega will be delivering the Alexis Argüello order to the sporting excellence of the year 2019.
