Managua Venue for the Central American Under 23 Volleyball Championship

The Nicaraguan capital is home to the IV Central American Under 23 Women's Volleyball Championship, which will take place from June 23 to 29 at the Alexis Argüello Sports Center in Managua.

The opening ceremony began with the parade of athletes from the 7 participating countries, made up of Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Panama and Nicaragua as the host country.

This sporting event was inaugurated on the afternoon of Sunday, June 23, by comrade Enrique Armas, Vice Mayor of Managua; Mrs. Bertha Cuadra, President of the Nicaraguan Volleyball Federation and Mr. José Luis Jiménez, Secretary General of AFECAVOL and NORCECA.

In the opening speech, Vice Mayor Enrique Armas welcomed the participating delegations and expressed the commitment of the Good Government to support sport in its different disciplines, proof of this is that in the first semester of this year, Managua has become a the capital of Central American sports, with the Pan American Boxing tournament, the continental NORCECA Beach Volleyball competition, the friendly baseball games with Puerto Rico and the next ones with Cuba; as well as the Central American Motocross, Cycling and Athletics Championships.
