In the Michelle Richardson swimming pool complex of the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores park, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua with the Nicaraguan Swimming Federation organized the First Rookie Tournament.
The competition was inaugurated by comrade Enrique Armas Rosales, Vice Mayor of Managua, who highlighted that 67 new swimmers participated in this event, from 5 swimming clubs, in the infantile A (children from 9 to 10 years old) and Infant B (children) categories ( children 11 to 12 years).
The 67 new athletes competed for the first places in each gender and in the four competitions called, these being: 50 meters butterfly, 50 meters back, 50 meters chest and 50 meters free.
It is important to highlight the strength that swimming has been obtaining with this new complex of Olympic swimming pools, which this Good Government built, a sports infrastructure work, which contributes to the training and seedbed of new athletes.
Likewise, Vice Mayor Enrique Armas reported that, for next December, the Michelle Richardson pools will be the scene of the Central American Swimming Championship in which a large number of competitors from the region will participate.
