With the reforestation of the northwestern slope of the Nejapa lagoon, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, the Guardabarranco Environmental Movement, INAFOR and MARENA commemorated World Environment Day.
This reforestation day was held on Wednesday 05, with the participation of young people from the Guardabarranco environmental movement, who planted 200 plants of various species of trees native to that area of the lagoon.
Representing the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua was Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales, who pointed out that for the Municipality the care and protection of the environment and our natural resources is a priority.
He also expressed that the day was held, because last year that area of the lagoon suffered a forest fire that affected the ecosystem of that area, for which sardinillo, quebracho, oak plants were planted, among other native forest plants. of the place.
