As part of the promotion and support provided by the Good Government to the national sport, the 2019 Managua Mayor's Office of the Instructional Baseball League for Children was inaugurated.
The inauguration was presided over by comrade Enrique Armas Rosales, Vice Mayor of Managua, who highlighted the support of the Good Government for national baseball with the creation of new sports schools in the regions of Pochocuape, Las Viudas and Los Cedros; as well as in the Germán Pomares and Georgino Andrade neighborhoods.
In addition, the construction of first-rate sports infrastructure works, including the Roberto Clemente children's stadiums and the Comandante Hugo Chávez Frías sports complex, as well as the new René Núñez Téllez stadium built in the Germán Pomares neighborhood.
In this instructional league, 41 teams from the 14 baseball schools will participate, directed by the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua in the different districts of the Municipality. This sports tournament will be held in 4 categories, the first, Peewe with children from 3 to 7 years old, the second, Infant A with children of 8 and 9 years old, Infant AA children of 10 and 11 years old, as well as Juvenile A with children 12 and 13 years old.
