Municipality rewards champions of the Chess Tournament

Celebrating the 167th anniversary of Managua being elevated to the Capital of the Republic and on the bicentennial of the declaration of the Leal Villa de Managua, the Municipality awarded the winners of the first chess tournament.

This award was presided over by comrade Enrique Armas Rosales, Vice Mayor of Managua, who presented the trophies and medals of recognition to the winners, at the same time, who expressed the Good Government's commitment to continue supporting and promoting sport in its different disciplines.

In this tournament the first 6 places were awarded, being in descending order as follows: Francisco Batres, Manuel Flores, Maximiliano Rocha, Juan Bosco Ruiz, Lester Jiménez and Alí Ordóñez; Likewise, María José Granados was awarded as the best female player and Daniela Serrano in the Under 17 category.

Mr. Francisco Batres, champion of the tournament, expressed his satisfaction with the event organized by the Mayor's Office of Citizen Power of Managua and urged parents and young people to join this sport that helps the integral development of people, in the cognitive , decision making and in subjects such as mathematics.
