Chess Tournament begins in salute to Darío and the Bicentennial of Managua

With the aim of promoting sports and healthy recreation, the Mayor's Office of Citizen Power organized the first chess tournament of 2019 in the Nicaraguan capital.

This tournament is part of the activities for the 152nd anniversary of the birth of the famous Nicaraguan poet Rubén Darío and the Bicentennial of the Leal Villa de Managua.

The inauguration of this sporting event was presided over by colleague Enrique Armas Rosales, Vice Mayor of Managua, who began the first round of the competition, in a friendly game with international teacher Carlos Dávila.

In this tournament 40 chess players from different neighborhoods and communities of the Nicaraguan capital participate, who will compete in 9 rounds, in the Swiss system and the first 6 places will be awarded, as well as, first place in women and youth.
