Cantata to the 152 Anniversary of the Birth of Rubén Darío

In commemoration of the 152 anniversary of the birth of our compatriot and distinguished Poet Rubén Darío, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua organized a cantata to the Prince of Castilian Letters and imposed floral offerings on his monument.

In the cantata, the literary work of Rubén Darío was set to music, which was performed by the musical quintet Camilo Zapata and the soprano Gioconda Cabrera.

The commemorative act was presided over by fellow Mayor Reyna Rueda Alvarado and Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales, who announced the story and poetry contest for the "Bicentennial of the Leal Villa de Managua."

These writings must be submitted before March 8, in Arial 12, line spacing 1.5, in Spanish and the topic to be addressed must be about Managua, its culture, customs, social development, natural landscape, among others. The awards will be presented on March 24, on the 200th anniversary that Managua was elevated to Leal Villa de Managua.

Any person over 14 years of age may participate in this contest, who must present up to 3 poems that must not exceed 30 verses or lines and the stories must not exceed 3 pages of a letter sheet.
