Municipal librarians receive training in greeting the birth of Rubén Darío

In celebration of the 152 anniversary of the birth of the universal poet and father of modernism Félix Rubén García Sarmiento, the Directorate of Historical Heritage trained the 36 librarians who serve primary and secondary students in the 36 municipal libraries in the capital.

The workshop was held in the Poet's house museum located on Paseo Xolotlán and its main objective was to know and characterize in depth the anti-interventionist thought of the poet reflected in his writings at the time when the United States invaded Nicaragua to overthrow President Zelaya.

The Bicentennial Commission also participated in the event and the municipal government convened the digital art contest, students will be able to participate with three poems or a short story, the winners will be chosen on March 8 and will be awarded on March 24, the day on which will celebrate the 200th anniversary of the appointment of Managua as the capital of the Republic.
