The Managua Council together with the diplomatic corps, special guests, Nicaraguan artists and athletes, met to declare 2019 as the year of the Bicentennial of the Leal Villa de Santiago de Managua, during the extraordinary session number 7, which was held in the Japan-Nicaragua Friendship Park and chaired by the municipal authorities.
Managua bicentennial "Pride of my Country", will be from now on the city of light and festivities to celebrate 200 years of being the capital of the Republic, during the following months.
Mayor Reyna Rueda, in use of the powers conferred by Law number 40, Municipal Law, Article 28, numeral 4, declared this year as the year of the bicentennial.
“We feel proud and privileged to accompany our people in the different celebrations to honor the 200 years of being the capital of the Republic, we have much to thank God who has allowed us to work together with our people with the programs and policies of restitution of rights headed by Commander Daniel and Vice President Rosario Murillo ”.
In the solemn special session, the creation of a new municipal order was unanimously approved, the Order of the Bicentennial Year of Leal Villa de Managua 1819-2019, which will be delivered to national or foreign personalities and institutions that have contributed to the transformation and development. city of the capital, the announcement was made by Vice Mayor Enrique Armas based on resolution number two of the year.
“The order, Year of the Bicentennial will be delivered to the personalities in institutions that have stood out in the service of Nicaraguan society and that have participated in the strengthening of the urban and cultural identity of the people of Managua, the order will be a circular medal of 45 millimeters in diameter, made of bronze, bathed in 14 carat gold, among the icons it will have, will be an ancestral image of the Asososca Lagoon, with an approximate weight of 36 grams and the ribbon that will carry it will carry the colors of the flag ”.
The winners of this order will be proposed by the Mayor and Vice Mayor, among the bicentennial festivities there is a solemn special session in the crystal room of the Rubén Darío National Theater, cultural and sports activities on Bolívar Avenue, to the solemn events they will be invited all friendly and donor municipalities and those that are part of the Union of Ibero-American Capital Cities.
