Night tour of critical points in Managua

On the afternoon and night of this Tuesday, October 16, building authorities toured some critical points due to flooding and collapse of district 4 and 6 of Managua, where the progress of the protection works, carried out by the Municipality, was supervised; Likewise, support and care was provided to families in these vulnerable areas in the face of the rains.

This tour was led by colleagues Fidel Moreno, Secretary of the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, and Vice Mayor Enrique Armas Rosales, who visited the work on stabilizing the slopes with gabion walls in a stretch of the Domitila Lugo river not yet lined. where they explained that this work is temporary and aims to prevent erosion or collapse of its slopes by the force of currents; They also explained that this vulnerability problem will conclude with the lining of the riverbed slopes, a project that will begin to be carried out from December to next January.

During this visit, the families of the Domitila Lugo and Santa Clara neighborhoods, who live on both sides of the river, were attended to, with whom they spoke and a direct communication was held about the project in execution; Likewise, the Camilo Chamorro neighborhood of District 6 was visited, where the slopes of the channel and the foundations of a pedestrian bridge were stabilized.

Comrade Fidel Moreno expressed that with the declaration of the red alert, the different committees for prevention and attention to disasters were activated in the different neighborhoods, communities and districts of our capital city, which will be in permanent monitoring and attention to families to attend to the affected areas as quickly as possible or those that may demand a response.
