Mayor's Office activates the yellow alert prevention system

The municipal authorities activated all the prevention and mitigation systems, due to the yellow alert state that the Central Government decreed in the face of heavy rains, which could last for the next 48 hours, as they confirmed during the tour they made through the affected neighborhoods and homes. since the night of this Thursday.

The route to assess the damage began in District III and the most affected neighborhoods are: Camilo Ortega, Alexis Argüello, La Zacatera, Martha Quezada Pista Suburbana, the San Isidro de la Cruz Verde Micro-dam, Pochocuape Comarca and the Ayapal neighborhood.

Mayor Reyna Rueda explained that all COMUPRED systems are activated in each neighborhood and in all districts of the capital.

"We are touring the homes of the affected families to give an immediate response to the effects, and we have activated the entire prevention and surveillance system to protect the lives of the families, which is the most important thing," said Rueda.

The municipality began a surveillance monitoring and permanent tour of the critical points that may cause landslide problems, caused by saturation of the soils, as confirmed by the Secretary General of the commune, Fidel Moreno.

“Following the instructions of the Comrade President and Comrade Rosario, we are providing immediate solutions to the damages caused by the rain, we do not have severe floods, but the next 48 hours will be of constant rains, which the drainage system can handle, the greatest danger It is the landslide due to saturation of the soils, but we will be in permanent surveillance until the yellow alert status passes ”.

The Districts of Managua have reported more than 30 fallen trees, flooded houses, a collapsed wall, and so far there are no human losses.
