In salute to the 62nd anniversary of the passage to immortality of the poet and National Hero Rigoberto López Pérez, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, held the Second Kite Festival 2018, whose motto was "Let your imagination fly for the environment."
The activity was coordinated by the Sports and Environment Directorates of the Capital Commune, where children and adolescents from 15 schools in the capital participated, as well as young people and adults from the different neighborhoods of Managua, who competed in raising their kites in the wide Heaven of our homeland blessed and always free.
The festival took place on the morning of Sunday, September 23, between Paseo Los Estudiantes and Plaza La Fe, where the participants of this event gathered, in an atmosphere of family and community; For their part, the young participants expressed their satisfaction with this event that promotes healthy recreation in capital families, among them the young Nelson Aburto from the Martha Elena López School of District 7, who was happy with this event in which he participated together with his classmates.
In this event, the first three places were awarded in the four categories children, adolescents, youth and free; In this competition creativity, use of recyclable materials, messages referring to the environment, as well as the time and height that the comet was maintained were evaluated.
