Inauguration of the Table Tennis Academy

As part of the support for sports and recreation for Nicaraguan children and youth, the Good Government, through the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua, inaugurated the first Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores Municipal Table Tennis Academy.

This Table Tennis Academy will operate in 10 public schools in the capital, where new athletes will be trained in this sport; Each school will have 2 ping-pong tables for classes and training sessions.

In district 1, the academy will operate at the Elvis Díaz Romero and Rigoberto López Pérez institutes; in district 2 it will be at the Ramírez Goyena Institute; District 3 will teach at the Institute of Specialties Melania Morales, District 4 at the Experimental México and Maestro Gabriel schools; District 5 at the Alesio Blandón Normal School and Instituto 14 de Septiembre; in district 6 it will be at the Carlos Blass Institute and at the Villa Libertad Institute for district 7.

The delivery of the sports equipment for table tennis was in charge of comrade Enrique Armas Rosales, Vice Mayor of Managua, who said that this school will be a hotbed of athletes who in the future will bring joy and glory to Nicaragua, when they represent us in the table tennis tournaments.

For their part, the students thanked the support with the inauguration of this sports academy, as expressed by the young Gabriela Escorcia, President of the Federation of Secondary Students.
