Mayor's Office holds the First National Swimming Championship

The Mayor's Office of Managua organized the First National Swimming Championship, in the short pool modality, in the event 66 swimmers from different schools and clubs in categories, A, AA, AAA and Youth will participate for 4 days.

In the championship, competitions in all styles will be held from August 23 to 26 and the winners will represent the country in China in December, always in the short pool mode, as reported by Vice Mayor Enrique Armas.

"In the competitions we will have cream and cream, the best swimmers from the different clubs competing for medals for four days, for the first time swimmers from Carazo are participating. The competitions will be in the categories from infantile from the 8 and 9 years, to the youthful one from 18 to more; this championship is the preamble to the strongest that will be the opening of the Mayor's Swimming Academy, on September 9 at the Michelle Richardson Swimming Pool Complex ”, detailed Armas.

The championship participants in the water become titans, their fight is against the clock, who achieves the shortest times, wins the precious medals and his passport to China, the swimmers are from the clubs Los Delfines, Las Ranas, Las Barracudas , Los Sábalos, Nica Nadadores, Dolphins of Glory and Hurricanes of the Curie.

The general secretary of FENANICA, Miguel Asensio, explained that the event seeks to see what level the athletes have reached.

“We have had a relaxing moment between one event and another in the long pool competitions, that is why we are resuming the short pool competitions. Next December there will be a championship in China and our country has good athletes like Miguel Mena, Karla Abarca, Gabriel Hernández and Fernando Abello ”.

The Managuas will be able to enjoy four days of competition in categories "A" children from 9 to 12 years old, in the double "AA" preadolescents from 11 to 12 years old, in the triple "AAA" adolescents from 14 to 15 years old and in the Seniors or Youth category 18 years and over.
