The Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power in coordination with the Organizing Committee of the Nicaragua Carnival "Alegría por la Vida", began the first of the 3 Sundays of carnivals, to select the best groups of the municipality of Managua.
Comrade Enrique Armas Rosales, Vice Mayor of the Citizen Power, announced that in this tie 37 groups were registered, of which the best 15 will be selected, to participate in the eighteenth edition of the Nicaragua Carnival.
On the first Sunday of Carnival, 6 comparsas participated, parading and demonstrating their artistic skills in the Plaza 22 de Agosto, in an atmosphere of joy and festivity, with the attendance of a large number of families from the capital who came to enjoy the event.
For their part, the participating troupes were optimistic in this competition, as stated by the young José Antonio Obando, choreographer of the troupe Evolution, who said that since December they have been preparing for the artistic presentation of their troupe.
