With a concert of bolero music at the Paseo Xolotlán amphitheater, the Mayor's Office of Citizen Power celebrated the 166th anniversary of Managua being elevated to the Capital of the Republic.
This activity took place on the night of Monday, February 5, in an atmosphere of family and community, who were delighted with the musical performances of the group Los Clarineros, Ofilio Picón and Don Otto de la Rocha, as well as dances of our folklore by from the ballet Camilo Zapata.
The commemoration was presided over by comrade Enrique Armas Rosales, Vice Mayor of Managua, who on behalf of the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua presented plaques of recognition to the singer-songwriters Otto de la Rocha and Ofilio Picón, in recognition of their outstanding artistic work in the promotion and rescue of our cultural identity; Likewise, a distinction was given to relatives to the Father of Son Nica Camilo Zapata (RIP), in recognition of his artistic legacy.
Comrade Enrique Armas highlighted the contribution that these honored artists have made to Nicaraguan music, for which the Capital Commune was honored to distinguish them on the 166th anniversary that Managua was elevated to the Capital of the Republic.
