In restitution of rights and as part of the Alma Solidaria program, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua delivered 300 food packages to an equal number of elderly people from different neighborhoods of the capital.
The delivery was presided over by comrade Reyna Rueda Alvarado, Mayor of the Citizen Power of Managua, who delivered the food packages to the beneficiaries of this program.
He also announced that this project was born in the Sandinista administration of Mayor Alexis Argüello, continued with Mayor Daysi Torres and will continue to provide support to the elderly, who do not have any economic income or family support.
He also expressed that through this “Alma Solidaria” program, talks and crafts courses are offered to the elderly; In addition, they are supported with walking sticks, lifts or other aids for their mobility.
The delivery of these food packages is carried out once a month, in a family and community environment; where in addition to picking up their package, they are offered a recreational morning with a snack. Also, we can point out that in some cases, the beneficiary cannot get to pick up the food package due to health problems, the Municipality sends it to his residence.
For their part, the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude, as stated by Mrs. Ángela Guevara González, a resident of District 3, who said she was happy with the support she is being given through the Alma Solidaria program.
