The Secretary General, Fidel Moreno, explained that the construction of the bridge boxes is part of the complementary works of the new stadium, which will lead the rainwater to the Los Guachos Micro-dam and will save the Tiscapa lagoon from contaminating.
"In this sector we have two important channels that come from the Hialeah sector through neighborhood 380 and Jonathan González, which overflow into the micro-dam in this area."
Moreno explained that the new tunnel box is 380 meters long and extends through the parking lot of the new stadium until it reaches the Los Guachos Micro Dam.
Each of the pieces that make up the tunnel box has a weight of 8 tons and together they are 15 meters wide.
"We are making the union that goes in an open channel to the tunnel box with prefabricated materials, taking into account that we are already in winter and we hope to be able to finish the box tonight."
At the same time, he explained that the tunnel box measures 6 free meters by 3 meters high, in total there are 18 square meters of hydraulic section.
"This is one of the most important drainage system projects that we are building in Managua. We are also building another 130-meter long tunnel box 150 meters from here, the entire project will be ready in three weeks."
