In commemoration of the National Recycling Day and within the framework of the celebrations of the 122 Anniversary of the Birth of General Augusto C. Sandino, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua held the Recycling in the Batahola Norte neighborhood of District 2.
This activity consisted of eliminating an illegal dump and rehabilitating it as a garden; Likewise, the evacuation of recyclable waste was carried out, such as paper, cardboard, plastic and bottles, promoting the proper use of solid waste and also to guarantee a clean and healthy city.
The event was chaired by comrade Reyna Rueda Alvarado, Secretary of the Managua Council, who said that this effort is carried out in coordination with the Guardabarranco Environmental Movement and the community.
He also said that 200 plants will be planted in the activity on the north side of the Batahola Norte park and a house-to-house environmental awareness day will be held to promote the proper use of solid waste.
For its part, the population expressed its support for this activity, as part of shared social responsibility, as well as the youth of the Guardabarranco Environmental Movement, among them, Jean Carlos López who expressed his commitment in this day of reforestation, cleaning and awareness raising, to guarantee a clean and healthy space, for the families of the capital.[vc_images_carousel images=”8608,8609,8610,8611,8612,8613,8614″ img_size=”large”]
