The second phase to be built at the Hugo Chávez Sports Complex, which will host the Central American Games next December, is 76 percent complete and is expected to be inaugurated at the end of July, as reported by the Secretary General. , Fidel Moreno.
“In this second phase we are building 9 thousand square meters to complete the project with different sports and recreational facilities for Nicaraguan families, for our youth and our children. We are building an area for indoor soccer (3 fields) or soccer field, in soccer 7 format, with an area of 3,500 square meters, we also have a basketball court, a square to be used by the residents of Colonia 14 de Septiembre to different recreational or community activities ”.
The second phase of the complex will have a series of new and modern playgrounds, a parking lot for 61 vehicles with an investment of 26 million cordobas.
Moreno explained that in the first phase where the Children's Baseball Stadium was built, 15 thousand square meters were built.
For the Central American Games, the Organizing Committee has proposed that competitions in women's softball and futsal be held in this sub-site.
In the surroundings of the sports complex, complete works that are part of the project are being carried out, such as drainage works in the sector, rehabilitation of alternate streets and enabling spaces that could be occupied by visitors during the games.
