Construction of Olympic swimming pools begins in Luis Alfonso Park

In the first week of May, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua began the construction of 2 swimming pools in the second stage of the Luis Alfonso Velásquez Flores Park, which will be used for the Central American Games in December.

The start of construction was supervised by comrade Fidel Moreno Briones, Secretary General of the Capital Commune, who reported that this pool complex is expected to be completed in November; the intervention area will be a little greater than 7 thousand square meters, in which the 2 swimming pools, a main building and the parking lot will be located; which will have an investment of 3.6 million dollars.

Likewise, he informed that this sports area will have two swimming pools, an Olympic one 50 meters long by 25 meters wide and 2.5 meters deep, for competitions; as well as, another semi-Olympic 25 by 25 meters that will be used for the warm-up of the athletes; He also said that the pools will have a high-tech system, such as their walls that will be sensitive to the touch to be able to time the athletes' time; as well as the cleaning of the same, the pumping of the water, the automatic application of chemicals and the controlled temperature of the water.

In addition to a grandstand with capacity for 1,200 people, which will also be the main building that will house the complex's offices, the medical room, the doping room, the dressing room and machine rooms.
