The Municipal Government is building a new hydraulic concrete track to give the Managuas an alternate track that allows drivers to bypass the city, from Carretera a Masaya to Pista Larreynaga.
The new track that is being built joins the regions of Esquipulas, Las Cuatros Esquinas, Sabana Grande and Carretera Norte; This bypass was made to lower the vehicular flow of one of the main arteries such as Carretera a Masaya. The first stage of the project began in 2016 and will be ready by the end of 2018, as confirmed by the Secretary General, Fidel Moreno.
“We have been working on this project in different stages, that once it is ready, we will have a circulation ring that will connect the North Highway with the Masaya Highway, when the project is ready in 2018, there will be 22 kilometers of track with ranges of 4 to 2 lanes, the entire track is hydraulic concrete and will allow better circulation to an estimated 30 to 35 thousand vehicles per day ”.
Moreno explained that for three years 3 accesses were enabled in the Esquipulas sector, then another section was worked in Cuatro Esquinas of 2.5 kilometers and from Cuatro Esquinas to Sabana Grande a segment of 5 kilometers.
"This year we will be completing the five-kilometer stretch from Cuatro Esquinas to Sabana Grande with an investment of approximately 30 million córdobas."
The capital commune, parallel to the expansion of the road network, works on the streets of 72 neighborhoods through the Streets for the People Program, which is developed with the support of the Government of President Ortega and Vice President Rosario Murillo through municipal transfers.
In 8 years, Calles para el Pueblo has revitalized and modernized 8,517 blocks of road infrastructure from 2009 to 2017.
With an average of 1,000 blocks per year, this Municipal Government has improved the road network in three ways; 6 thousand blocks of asphalt, 2 thousand blocks of hydraulic concrete and 573 blocks of cobblestones and for this year the goal is 1,372 new streets.
