As part of the care and preservation of the environment and our natural resources, the Mayor's Office of the Citizen Power of Managua in coordination with the National Army and the Guardabarranco Environmentalist Movement carried out a cleaning day in the Tiscapa lagoon.
This day, which is the first of the 12 developments a year, was supported by 100 members of the Nicaraguan army, 30 young people from the Guardabarranco Environmental Movement and workers from the capital's Commune, who collected garbage from the slopes, trails and from the waters of the Tiscapa lagoon.
The cleaning day was led by comrade Reyna Rueda Alvarado, Secretary of the Managua Council, who thanked the participants for joining in this commendable effort for our natural resources, at the same time she announced that in addition to these days, the municipality has developed systematic activities to achieve the cleaning and oxygenation of this aquifer.
For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Carlos Barrios, Chief of the General Staff of the Command Regiment, stated that among the axes of the Nicaraguan Army is the protection of the environment, so this institution in coordination with the Mayor's Office of Citizen Power and the Movement Environmentalist will develop cleaning days in all the lagoons of the municipality of Managua, to guarantee the protection of the natural resources of the Nicaraguan people.
