Council elects Juries of Conscience for the First Criminal District Court for the year 2017

In solemn session, the honorable Municipal Council elected 100 jurors of conscience for the First Criminal District Court of Managua, corresponding to the year 2017; in accordance with the provisions of Law 232, "Law of Reforms to the Code of Criminal Instruction" in its article number 1.

These 100 citizens will be trained and will serve as juries of conscience in trials that are still under the Code of Criminal Instruction; the election was carried out with the disinsaculation, by means of an electronic raffle, with a base of 200 candidates of which 100 jurors were chosen, who were proposed by councilors, representatives of the Public Ministry and the Supreme Court of Justice.

This jury election was presided over by comrade Daysi Torres, Mayor of Managua and Judge Irma Laguna Cruz of the First Criminal District Court; as well as, comrade Reyna Rueda Alvarado, Secretary of the Capital Council, comrade Enrique Armas Vice Mayor of Managua, Delegates of the Supreme Court of Justice, the Attorney General's Office.
