The 2017 Streets for the People Program will benefit 72 neighborhoods in the capital with the repair and maintenance of 1,236 blocks in the 7 districts and main roads.
The maintenance of the road network began in the Milagro de Dios neighborhood of District V, where 900 meters of track were repainted in front of the main access to the cemetery of the same name, benefiting 4 more neighborhoods, including: Che Guevara, Las Jagüitas and God's blessing.
Secretary General Fidel Moreno explained that this year Calles para el Pueblo will have an investment of 200 million córdobas.
"The Streets for the People program will have 98 projects in 72 neighborhoods, we expect to invest 200 million córdobas in this stage and in June we expect to have 80 percent completed."
Moreno explained that the Streets for the People program has served 1 thousand blocks of road network in 8 years.
“In the last 8 years we have served about 8 thousand blocks. 2016 was an exceptional year, we surpassed a thousand blocks and this year we hope it will be a good year with 1,836 blocks, more or less we are maintaining the investment rates of last year ”, he indicated.
2017 will be a unique exceptional year in the modernization and development of the capital's road infrastructure with the construction of the Las Piedrecitas Overpass and 7 Sur Overpass and the expansion of the Juan Pablo II Track.
