Municipal School Soccer League ends

The Municipal League of School Soccer "Augusto C. Sandino" that the capital commune organized for the second consecutive year was successful, this year 50 teams from districts II, III, IV, V, VI and VII participated for 6 months, 800 young people between the ages of 15 to 17 they were on the court to see who would be crowned champion of the league.

This year, of the 50 teams, 18 were women's teams, a further achievement that takes the promotion of the sport beyond gender.

The Vice Mayor Enrique Armas explained that the intention of the league is to create a love of sport in the new generations.

“The Augusto C. Sandino municipal soccer cup was organized to give continuity to the mandate of Commander Daniel and Compañera Rosario, which is to promote the sport in new generations and the cup was a success because it managed to summon 50 teams from all districts from Managua, we had 800 kids playing at the Conchita Palacio and at the Héroes y Mártires de Batahola complex of the 40 teams, 8 qualified in the grand final ”.

Among the teams that reached the final were San Sebastián, Aldeas SOS, Manuel Olivares, Los Quinchos, La Colonia 14 de Septiembre and Villa Libertad.

The Sports Director, colleague Noel González, explained that the importance of municipal leagues is to promote the restitution of the right of young children and adolescents to practice sport.

"These school leagues are a free recreation space for young people, at the same time a seedbed is being formed for future teams, we as mayor have four teams in the national cup that begins this weekend."
