Mayordoma of patron saint festivities distributes food on the sail of the ship in San Judas

Hundreds of inhabitants of the San Judas neighborhood attended the sailing of the Santo Domingo ship, in the Plaza Róger Deshon in the same neighborhood. The Mayordoma of the Patron Saint Festivities and the Mayor of Managua, companion Daysi Torres, accompanied by the Vice Mayor, companion Enrique Armas, danced the replica of the tiny, but miraculous image of Minguito, in front of the home of the widow and children of the late torologist Lisímaco Chávez, where pork food was also distributed in different ways and the inevitable chicha from the seven streams.

Minguito's boat remained awake for the parishioners of San Judas until four in the morning, to then be transferred to the Hook of Roads, where it waits for Santo Domingo, to take it to its Church of the same name in the Historic Center of the capital.

Doña Martha Velásquez, a resident of the neighborhood, said that this tradition has more than 25 years, since the traditionalist and torologist Lisímaco Chávez brought the image of Santo Domingo, where he watched him all night and then made a tour of the city. The tradition is continued by the widow and children of the late Lisímaco Chávez.

According to historians of Santo Domingo, the traditionalist Lisímaco Chávez was excommunicated by the Catholic Church, for having stolen the image of Santo Domingo.

The Mayordoma after the sail of the ship prepares to participate on the first day of August tomorrow in the great pilgrimage that Minguito and his thousands of parishioners make from the church of Las Sierritas to the capital.
